LANCE GUMMERE
Throughout his career, Chef Lance Gummere earned accolades as one of Atlanta’s top chefs. A pandemic pivot took him from restaurant kitchens to his home kitchen where he founded Mercer Street Meals.
While a James Beard nom and headlines, including “Top 10 Most Memorable Restaurants” and “Most Anticipated New Restaurant,” were meaningful, he’s found the most joy in cooking four delicious, nourishing courses at an affordable price for his Mercer Street Meals clientele. What started as a temporary gig to help friends and families get a great meal on the table took off. And happy families keep letting “Chef Lance do the cooking.”
From catering for the likes of Dolly Parton, Jay-Z, Iggy Pop, Cyndi Lauper, and the Red Hot Chili Peppers, to working in acclaimed eateries, like Mumbo Jumbo, MidCity Cuisine, Shaun’s, The Shed at Glenwood Park, Bantam & Biddy and more, Chef Lance continues to delight with his growing gig.
Gummere lives in Ormewood Park with his wife, Gracie, two sons, Ryland and Miles and two chocolate labs, Dave and Gus. At home, Gummere also tends to an impressive garden, chickens and bees.
